Privacy Policy

1. Information AskIdeal collects

Information you provide. This includes your email address, optional display name, sign-in information, shopping questions, messages, stated preferences, feedback, communications, and other content you choose to submit.

Fit Memory. Fit Memory contains only facts you state about your situation. It is not meant to hold inferred interests, behavior scores, or audience segments. You can read and delete it from the Services.

Shopping and account records. AskIdeal stores the conversations, questions, recommendations, sources, saved Automations, notification choices, and coarse or user-set shopping location needed for the features you use. AskIdeal does not save a raw IP address as your account location.

Technical and usage information. Browsers, devices, and network systems provide information such as device and browser type, operating system, app version, request time, IP address in transient network handling or logs, pages and features used, performance, failures, and security events. Native product-health events are designed not to include your question, product, URL, email, token, or user ID.

Email information. AskIdeal processes messages you send and delivery events such as delivery, bounce, complaint, open, or link interaction when the email provider makes those events available.

2. Merchant, catalog, and source information

AskIdeal receives product and merchant information from public pages, merchant or partner feeds, marketplaces, catalogs, and other shopping sources. This can include product names, descriptions, specifications, images, prices, availability, listing URLs, store information, and review-derived product signals. This information is generally about products and businesses rather than shoppers.

If a merchant or source provides personal information within catalog data, AskIdeal handles it under this Policy and may remove, restrict, or decline data that is not needed for product recommendations.

3. How AskIdeal uses information

AskIdeal uses information to provide and personalize shopping guidance; explain and source recommendations; maintain accounts, Fit Memory, conversations, and Automations; send service and preference-controlled emails; locate relevant products; operate, debug, secure, and improve the Services; prevent abuse; measure aggregate product health; communicate with you; and comply with legal obligations.

AskIdeal may aggregate or de-identify information for analytics, research, and service improvement. Where information is maintained in de-identified form, AskIdeal does not use it to identify you except where law permits this for security or validation.

4. AI and model processing

AskIdeal uses automated systems and AI models to understand requests, find and compare products, generate explanations, summarize source material, and operate safety and quality controls. The content and context needed for those tasks may be processed by service providers that run AI models or supporting infrastructure.

Before AskIdeal sends your question, relevant conversation context, or needed Fit Memory to an AI provider, AskIdeal asks for separate, explicit permission. You may decline or withdraw that permission in Data & privacy settings. Without permission, AskIdeal will not start new AI requests, so recommendation features that require AI will not work.

AskIdeal does not use your shopping conversations or Fit Memory to train general-purpose AI models and does not intentionally opt in to an AI provider using that content for such training. Providers may retain or review inputs and outputs for limited periods to deliver the requested response, secure their systems, detect abuse, comply with law, or troubleshoot failures, as allowed by AskIdeal’s arrangements with them. If this training policy changes, AskIdeal will give clear notice and a choice before new content is used that way.

Do not submit sensitive personal information that is not needed for a shopping decision. AI responses can repeat information from your input and can be inaccurate. AskIdeal uses account and source controls to keep recommendations tied to the shopper and evidence, but no technical system is perfect.

5. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

AskIdeal uses cookies and similar local storage to sign you in, protect sessions, remember settings, preserve in-progress work, and operate the Services. Native apps may store session credentials in the device keychain and encrypted pending conversation data on the device.

AskIdeal measures feature use, reliability, and performance. The Apple apps do not use app data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Browser or device settings may let you limit cookies, but blocking essential storage can prevent sign-in or other features from working.

6. When information is shared

AskIdeal shares information only as reasonably needed with service providers that support hosting, databases, security, email, analytics, search, merchant/catalog processing, and AI; with merchants or third-party services when you follow a link or direct an interaction; with professional advisers; in a business transfer; or with authorities and others when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or secure the Services.

Third-party sites have their own terms and privacy practices. AskIdeal does not control what a merchant receives when you visit or interact with that merchant.

7. Affiliate and advertising measurement

AskIdeal does not sell personal information for money and does not currently show third-party targeted ads in the Services. If a product link is part of an affiliate or referral program, AskIdeal and the merchant or measurement provider may exchange a link or campaign identifier, interaction data, and confirmation of a qualifying action so compensation can be measured. The merchant processes information about its transaction under its own policy.

Where applicable law treats this measurement as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, you may have a right to opt out. Contact AskIdeal to exercise that right while account controls for it are not otherwise shown. AskIdeal’s Affiliate Disclosure identifies every active affiliate network and merchant program.

8. Retention and deletion

AskIdeal keeps personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, including while your account or an Automation remains active, and as needed for security, dispute resolution, legal obligations, and enforcement. The period depends on the data, why it was collected, and legal requirements. Information may remain briefly in backups or in records that must be preserved by law.

You can delete individual conversations and all Fit Memory through the Services. Deleting Fit Memory removes those stored notes; AskIdeal does not keep a second Fit Memory copy. In Data & privacy settings you can export a portable copy of account data and permanently delete your account, including conversations, Fit Memory, decisions, uploads, Automations, notification endpoints, and sessions. If you used Sign in with Apple, deletion also asks Apple to revoke AskIdeal’s token. Contact AskIdeal for other access or deletion requests.

9. Security

AskIdeal uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. For example, session tokens are stored in hashed form on the server, app session credentials use device-protected storage, and access to personal account data is restricted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so AskIdeal cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International processing

AskIdeal and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, AskIdeal will use safeguards required by applicable law for those transfers.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know about, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; opt out of certain sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; and appeal a denied request. You will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising a privacy right.

Use the privacy choices guide, in-product controls where available, or email [email protected]. AskIdeal may need to verify your identity and authority, and may retain or decline part of a request where law allows or requires it. An authorized agent may submit a request where applicable law permits.

12. Children

The Services are for people 18 and older. AskIdeal does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor provided personal information, contact AskIdeal so it can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Email choices

AskIdeal sends sign-in, account, security, and requested service messages. You can change Automation email timing or turn those updates off in Settings or through the notification link in an AskIdeal email. Essential account or security messages may still be sent.

14. Changes and contact

AskIdeal may update this Policy as the Services or law changes. The date at the top will change, and material changes will receive additional notice when appropriate. Questions, complaints, and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected]. AskIdeal Inc. is responsible for the personal information described in this Policy.
